I was looking for an eye cream and at the same time to treat myself with some extras. As usual I ended up browsing what directcosmetics had to offer. I was after some good bargains! And one of the great bargains I found was the ROC Sublime Energy Eye Cream! Boots sells it for £30.99, I bought it for £9.99! Actually now you can even buy it for cheaper! Anyway, I was happy with my purchase at that time. I usually spend more than £15 for my eye creams, this was still cheaper than I usually spend and the savings were great!
This ROC eye cream promises to reduce dark circles and puffiness, reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and crow's feet and make the eye lids look lifted and eye contours dramatically firmer. This product uses a new patented e-pulse technology to deliver great results. The eye cream is actually two eye creams. You apply two different products to get the desired results.
Before buying it I read the above claims and I thought that ok, even if all these claims are not true, at least I will have a decent eye cream from an established brand. Some of the above claims are based on clinical evaluation of 26 subjects (I guess all women), but 26 people is still a very low number to draw conclusions. Can you really draw conclusions on the effects of the cream on different skin types by having only 26 people trying it?

The two creams come in a neat base. Having both creams in one place is very convenient, I don't have to worry of misplacing one of the two, they are truly a matching set!
There are two stages in applying the product.
1st step: You apply the e-pulse concentrate. There is the indication 1 on the tube.
2nd step: You apply the activating moisturiser on top of the concentrate. There is the indication 2 on the tube.

The concentrate (pictures above) comes in a squeeze tube and its colour is grey(!!!). I was surprised and my first thought was, wouldn't that product make my eyes look darker? How is this going to treat dark circles? Anyway, by applying a small amount, you can't see any change in your skin colour. The texture is matte and it is applied very easily on the skin without dragging it. If you apply too much you get grey blobs of dried cream forming. You get 10 ml of concentrate in the tube.
The activating moisturiser is what you would expect an eye cream to look like. It's a light white cream coming in a pump container. You will get 10 ml of cream in the container.
I should have thought of this before, but basically I would probably have to wait a couple of minutes between each stage. That increases the time I spend on my beauty regime, and it's a problem when I am in a hurry (like every morning!). Even at this stage, I was still positive about this product and I really wanted it to work!
The first time I used it, everything was fine. I had no skin reaction, the creams don't smell so it's a plus for me, and they were absorbed quickly! The problems appeared during the next 3 applications. I applied the concentrate without problems, I waited for 2-3 minutes and then I applied the activating moisturiser. Once they cream came in contact with the concentrate I got a burning sensation. It was strong enough for me to worry. The area around the eyes is quite delicate and having any burning sensation around my eyes worries me! I washed the cream off immediately and I the burning sensation disappeared.
Obviously, I stopped using the cream. There was only one eye cream in the past that caused puffiness around my eyes and I had to stop using it. I had no other problems with creams in the past. I would have been really upset if I had spent the full price of £30.99 to buy it, only to find out that it doesn't work with my skin. I am still disappointed, £9.99 wasted...
I have read other reviews and other women love this cream. This is my experience with the Roc Sublime eye cream and I won't buy it again.
